On the third Saturday in June, to celebrate the beginning of summer, Team Kara Marie Kenney and Duffer’s Tavern will be hosting the third annual DufferFest. DufferFest is a music festival featuring local bands, disc jockey, children’s crafts, games for the big kids, food and drinks, dancing and good times. All proceeds from the event benefit The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Trisomy 21 Program (Down Syndrome). The date of this years event is June 20, 2009.
Team Kara Marie Kenney is a group of friends and family of a little girl named Kara Marie. Kara Marie is 4 years old and resides in Delaware County. Kara was diagnosed with Trisomy 21 (Down syndrome) shortly before she was born. Kara and her family have been enrolled in the Program since her birth and have experienced the wonderful things C.H.O.P.’s Trisomy 21 Program provide for children diagnosed with Down syndrome.
Established in 2003, the Trisomy 21 Program at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia assesses the developmental, behavioral and health needs of children and young adults with Trisomy 21 (Down syndrome). Their multidisciplinary team supports families by providing educational material, recommendations and ongoing treatment.
At this time we are seeking sponsors to help with the cost of the event. We are also seeking volunteers, items for raffle and silent auction, and advertisements for our event program.
